I'm scheduled to test tomorrow and my test center told me I'm not allowed to come by today and see the room or the note board and marker they give out. Is this normal policy?

That's correct. Testing centers only allow scheduled test takers into the testing room. However, there's nothing wrong with driving by to make sure you know how to get to the testing center.
