Hello all,

Iam planning to do MBA in near future , Iam currently working as a full time employee and also pursuing my MS (part time) . I have 3.7 GPA in MS ,was above to complete my MS but unfortunately Iam landing up with "Fail grade" in my last course .I can repeat this course , still it comes up in my transcript. Will this impact my admission process into top b-schools ? IF this impacts then can I just apply with my under grad GPA ? Pelase let me know asap as I need to register for next semester .

Thanks in advance.

It will certainly require explanation and could affect your chances of admission. You cannot apply without mentioning your graduate courses.

Deepu,

I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Linda is correct that you will need to have an explanation prepared.

A mistake in your life will not eliminate your application from getting into a great program. The key is to explain what happened and what you have learned from the experience. You can turn a failed grade into a positive aspect if you can write powerfully about how you have learned. You will have to rest concerns that admissions officers have by showing excellent academic work in other areas and performing well on the GMAT.

I'd be happy to brainstorm some ways with you that you could better rectify the situation.

Best,

Jay
