Stacy,
I have been on a particular school's waitlist since December. This school is ranked in the 25-30 range, and while I have a fellowship offer from another school in the top 50, the first school is my number one choice (by a large margin). I don't know if you have any input on waitlists and the chances of coming off this list, but I have been making contact with the school and they tell me they appreciate my continued intrest and encourage me to remain patient and optimistic. The final deadline for applications was May 1 and the final cut is June 1.
So, I really want to know if it is common for students to be taken off the waitlist this time of the year, and what is going on at Business schools at this point in the cycle? I realize I still have a chance, but should I not be so optimistic? The way I figured, this is the time when a lot of students will make their decisions to accept, defer or turn down seats and perhaps a seat will magically appear.....please let me know what you think on this matter. The waitlist - as I'm sure anyone reading this knows - is not a fun situation. Thanks for your help, and I look forward to hearing back from you!
