Male/ AGE 24
Indian nationality
GMAT - 660 Q46 V35
Undergrad - Arizona State University -
Double Major in Finance and SCM, Certificate in IB - CUM GPA of 3.4
Semester of Study in Sydney Australia

Work Ex - 3 yrs as a Supply chain analyst/ Buyer in Arizona
Lived and worked in 3 countries
Extracurricular - Sports, Community service, Alumni groups
Fundraising activities - Completed 5k races and marathon to raise funds for the humane society

Future goals - Join family business and start operations in Europe (I think I can write a compelling goals essay)

Target Schools in order of preference- NYU-STERN, UCLA-ANDERSON, UT-AUSTIN, DUKE, THUNDERBIRD

My questions are - Which applicant pool would I fall under and does my application distinguish itself from other INDIAN MALE applicants?
2) What are my chances at these schools?

Dear gkammaje,

If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, then you are in the domestic applicant subset. If you will attend school on a student visa (F-1), then you will be evaluated against the other applicants from your home country.

Your GMAT is below the average for 4 of your schools, but well within their range. As with any applicant, it comes down to how well you present your application in total. You must have a solid rationale for why you want your MBA and convey how it fits into your overall career plan. Your recommendations and interview must also be strong and support your case. I think you have a shot, but some of your schools are more of a reach than others. I do, however, think you have an appropriate list as you have one reasonable school and one safety school.
