stmt 1)

it says 40 out of 100 surveyed members did not favour either of them.
hence remaining 60 must have favoured M or N or both.

by the table in the question we know people favoured M = 40 & N = 30

so people favoured both should be 40+ 30 - 60 = 10

stmt 1 is SUFF.

stmt 2)
just gives information of 10 people unfavourable for both candidates
but doesn't give information of unsure and favourable counts. hence INSUFF.
