My stats:

700 GMAT
3.3 GPA, B.B.A. in Economics from a 2nd tier school
5 years experience, most recently in Consumer Products Corp. Fin.
Currently volunteer @ non profit on weekends (when not in office)
Have been taking a couple of night classes @ Columbia (grad/ugrad - continueing ed.)
Socioeconomic b-ground - first in family to graduate college

Looking at Columbia, NYU, Cornell, Duke, & USC
I know I fit the 'average' profile for most of these, but I'm concerned that 'average' won't cut it this season (Fall 2009)

Your thoughts please?

Dear ltg356,

What makes the difference for any applicant is how well you put your application together. It is imperative you present a strong rationale for why you want a MBA, how it fits into your overall career plan, and why the school you are applying to is a good match for you. Likewise, you must distinguish yourself from the competition and demonstrate successful leadership experiences/evidence of leadership potential.

Your profile is your foundation, now you need to construct a compelling case for your admission with your essays, recommendations, and interviews.
