IMO E

Parallelism of similar past tenses

I'd go for D

The 'discovery' was not announced rather than the 'pulsar' itself but I am not sure whether 'to be sighted' and 'observed' are redundant or not.

Yes, we need word "Discovery" and hence it changes the meaning.

Its D

I vote for D too..

question: I have bought also the 5 tests of CATPREP, and I find them EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, especially in the verbal part (RC is always dramatic)...

I made 4 simulations already and I scored all 4 times between 650 and 670...did any of you experience this too?

I hate that material, but I am addicted now...

I ruled out D bcoz of "to be"

Let me know why it is correct although D looks more parallel than E
