Hello,

I am aiming to apply this year for round II for HBS 2+2 and Stanford (will defer for 2-3 years). I really wish I could apply 1st round, but I was very busy with other commitments. I am also hoping to find out how an admission consultant can help me put everything together. My info is below -- an honest evaluation and advice would be great! Also, are there any other schools that offer deferred admissions?

Pursued 2 degrees concurrently, completed both in < 5 years.
School: University of British Columbia (Canada) -- full scholarship
Undergrad degree 1: Electrical Engineering (nanotechnology) 4.0 GPA
Undergrad degree 2: Economics 4.0 GPA

GMAT: 700 Overall, 6.0 Writing

Work Experience: McKinsey & Co Business Analyst + started 2 small businesses while at university + other internships in the summers throughout undergrad

Thanks everyone!

So you will be apply only to HBS 2+2 this year?
Gotta give it your all then.

A double 4.0 GPA, opening two businesses and getting a full scholarship would make you a preeeeetty good candidate. :)

If you have some volunteerwork to throw in the mix and some extra currics, even better.
But overall yeah, you are exactly the type of candidate that Havrd is looking for.

Now you just gotta kick some ass on those essays, and get some sweet recommendations.

I would need to see details around these businesses and would love to see a higher gmat given your academic prowess, but of course you can apply to 2+2. I am currently helping another UBC student with HBS and Silver(Yale), and have availability of you need a consultant.

Regards,

Alex

The McKinsey experience is great and is a strong signaling mechanism that you would be competitive for HBS and Stanford.
