I struggled aimlessly through the books available on RC just get things right and up for me. Thought of sharing something about books and material available on RC related to GMAT as per my view.
For RC, I started with Princeton review and performed badly. The problem which i realized later with princeton is that it focuses too much on getting the main idea and moving ahead. While that is true, it might not help always to infer or critically view how the pieces of information are being laid down in the passage.
I heard that Kaplan is better at it. I started with kaplan and to my dismay, things didn't improve much. I still had two-three wrongs on an average and the worst being that when i was supposed to complete 18 questions in 25 mins of three RC passages, i ended up the whole in 45 mins with only nine correct. The strategy of kaplan as i feel, is good but it didnt suit me and my problem was always in deriving the correct reasoning and critical assumptions and inferences based on the facts provided deep into the passage.
I started finally with Manhattan and the process suited me the best. I need to practice more but at least am getting the answers correct.
Try out every material available and stick to the one which suits best. Just give yourself ample scope to fail. You will know when you are good.
All the best.
