60-Day Guide and reviewing mistakes

by dannya » Wed Jul 11, 2012 11:40 am
Brent- Thanks for putting together this excellent study guide. I am a few days behind as I had to wait for the MGMAT quant books and the OG 13 (I was formally working with OG 12th edition).

I have 2 quick questions.

1. I am at least 4-5 days behind now. Would it make sense to cram 2 sessions per day in order to catch up or would continue at the current pace and work on one day at a time ? I haven't schedule my GMAT yet and will not until I see an improvement in my practice test results.

2. After each session, I go over all the questions that I complete and subsequently enter my wrong answers from the OG sets into the error log. Should I be going over these mistakes at least once per week or should I wait until the 60 day review period is complete ?

Thanks !

Hi dannya,

I'm glad you like the Study Guide.
I wouldn't worry about being a few days behind. I suspect that most students experience some unavoidable daily events that cause them to lose a few days of studying.

The learning activities for each day are often pretty dense, so doubling up on days might be somewhat exhausting and might lower your retention.

I'd continue at your regular pace, and turn it into a 65-day (or longer) Study Guide.

It's a good idea to review your mistakes as they happen, while the question is still fresh in your mind. Later, during the review period (the last 17 days of the Guide), you can also revisit problematic questions.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Brent
