Help Needed for GMAT Preparation

Hello ppl,I have started my preparation on GMAT.I am from India and have just completed my BE.I have some time b4 I join my company.I just gave gmat preparation Test from mba.com(1st test) and scored a dismal 540(Q-47,V-19,IR-7).Also when I reviewed my answers i found out that I scored(22/37)in Quants and (22/41)in verbal then also my verbal was so low .Can anyone explain me this ?Coming from Engineering background my quants is quite good but verbal is pathetic .Can anyone name some good books for studying verbal from scratch as I am really bad in that.Please suggest me some books for verbal basic and quants (Advanced) asap as I have just 2 months before i join my company.

Start with Manhattan books (Whole Set)..awsum explanations
and also mocks of Manhattan... blend your preparation with mocks...
n OG -12,13 are a must...

Hi punit391990,

2 months is enough time to get ready for the GMAT, but your Verbal Scaled Score means that you'll need to do some HEAVY verbal studying. GMAT books will probably not be enough to get you ready - I recommend that you look into the various courses/options (most companies offer some free resources or trial accounts) and choose the one that fits your personality and budget. When it comes to the practice CATs, don't take too many of them too soon. You'll improve by doing practice problems, you can MEASURE your improvement with the CATs.
