I am an Indian national, 29 years of age, with a little less than 5 years of experience (56 months to be exact) in mechanical engineering. During this period, I have worked in several countries and had the opportunity to build an international experience and get an exposure in inter-cultural competence. I hold a Master's Degree (CAP 4.2/5.0) from Singapore and a Bachelor's Degree (First Class with Distinction) from India. I can provide testimonials from previous employers. I recently took the GMAT and scored 650 (42 Q, 36 V) and 5.5 on AWA. In additional to English and my native languages, I can also demonstrate elementary knowledge in German. Despite having a reasonably strong profile, educational background and professional experience, I have some apprehension whether I need to reconsider my GMAT score of 650. At the same time, I do not know how multiple attempts at GMAT are viewed by universities. I am told that GMAT is one part of the entire process and even a very high score does not confirm entry. So, basically I am looking for advice whether I need to retake the GMAT or proceed with my applications (working that much harder on the essays)? Looking forward to your response.
