The employees of Smith Enterprises received wage increases ranging from 30 cents to 87cents per hour. What was the minimum wage increase for a 40-hour week?

(A) $12.00
(B) $23.00
(C) $34.80
(D) $35.00
(E) $35.20

I don't really understand your answer. If the minimum wage rise is 30 cents per hour, on a 40 hour week the minimum wage rise would be $12 which is answer A. Am I missing something here?

IMO also it should A. May be ,we are missing something... :D

Guys, any help? I thought it was A as well... but OA is D? This is an official GMAT paper test... :( So I doubt the OA be wrong!!

Any idea why the OA is [spoiler][D][/spoiler]?? As mjjking said, it is from paper tests and I too got this answer wrong. Any suggestions, ideas?

Must be a typo...

The max wage increase for 40 hours is $34.80. The min is $12.00 Thus the answer could not be (D) or (E)...

IMO : Answer A:12$

I really doubt that the minimum increase is 35€.... as it seems to be the maximum.

Anyone ?

Actually, on my paper test, it said the MAXIMUM wage increase, and the answer is D.

The maximum wage increase was $0.875 x 40 = $35.
