Its a good C trap question.

The answer is E.

Statement 1 we get n/8 i.e n has atleast 2 2 2.
no information of k.Not sufficient.

Statement 2 we get k/4 i.e k has atleast 2 2.
Not Sufficient.

When we take both the statement together
in some cases the answer is an integer such as 16/8, 32/8.

But not in all the cases such as if n is 32 and k is 12 that is 32/12. not an integer.

Hey,

It asks if n/k is an even number not if it is an even integer

I do think that both n and k must be even integers if they are to be divisible by 8 and 4 respectively. However I am not really sure what the question is really asking for. I think it is poorly worded anyway :P

Quite simply if you look at it this way..

If gives no constraints on the numbers besides that one must be divisible by four and the other by 8, but you guys seems to think that k must be smaller than n, why?

What about....

n = 8
k = 32

n/k = 1/4

IMO E

If u don't understand the ques,let me explain to u. It is asking that whenever u divide n from k

"Is the answer is an even number" . U can't be sure in each and every case that the answer will be an even number.
