Is OA wrong here???

This is from set 6...

What is the value of │x + 7│?
(1) │x + 3│= 14
(2) (x + 2)^2 = 169

OA is D but I have it as C. Please explain why it'd be D if the OA is correct.

warning: OA may be wrong...
I too am getting C.
STM1: x+3=14, or x+3 = -14, i.e., x= 11 or -17 insuff
STM2: x^2+4x-165=0, i.e., x=11 or -15 insuff

Together: x = 11, so answer is C
