Guys,

Can somebody explain the concept of box - letter concept.
Q. In how many ways can 8 letters be posted in 5 letter boxes ?

Take letter 1 you can post it either in box 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 hence 5 ways
similarly letter 2 you can do it in 5 ways.....
letter 8 you can do it in 5 ways hence 5^8
