|x|+|x+1|=1
=> |x-(0)| + |x-(-1)|=1???

In other words ,is the sum of the distance between X and origin and X and -1 is 1-- This is the question..

The relationship will hold good only if X is the origin or X = -1

1. X>=o
X= 0 ,1,2,3,

For X=0 it is good, for rest of the values of X it does not

Insufficient


2. X<=1
x=1,0,-1,-2....

For X=0 it is good, for rest of the values of X it does not


Combining both X=0 is the only common value for X . Means X is the origin which holds good.

On your response for statement 2, x=-1 also satisfies the condition.

Also, how can you assume that x is an integer. why can't x be 0.5.

When you combine statement 1 and 2, we get

0=<x=<1.

I would say that the answer seems to be E. What's the source of this question?

Sorry I missed X = 1

So it should be E

The reason I took it as integers is just to make the solving of eqns simple.

IMO too E is the answer.
After combining 1 and 2, we get the domain: 0<= x <=1. At x =0, given equation holds good, while for rest of the values of x, it fails.

yep, I got it from certain test model :(

It seems that Prep must be the most reliable resource to pratice. I can do well in Prep, while there were many repeated Qs when I did it many times. I also practiced Princeton as well as Kaplan CD. Just as many previously described, Kaplan CD is not that good; Princeton is better. But the scores I got in Princeton were much lower than I did in Prep. :?
