Please rate my prospective chances

Dear Stacy,
I would be interested in doing an MBA at schools such as Insead and Columbia for example. I have a GPA of 3.2 from Imperial College London (3rd top University in UK at the time) in Biology. After university I changed direction to work in business (I was no longer interested in continuing with sciences), and I have been working for approx. 4 years work in a global management consulting firm (strategy) in the financial sector (banks and insurances) and was promoted at the first possible opportunity (after 24 months work experience). I am also multilingual (mother tongue English, Spanish, fluent in Italian and French, & basic knowledge of German). Furthermore I also have a diploma as a concert pianist.

I still have to take the GMAT, and wanted to ask you what kind of a score you think I should aim for taking into account my background and the MBA programs I am interested in.

Many thanks for your time and considerations,
Regards
GMAX

Dear Baldini,

Insead and Columbia are two of the most highly selective schools, so you want to score as high as possible to be competitive. To be in the best position, you want to be above the average, so that would be at least a 710 for these schools. You might still be competitive with a score in the 670-710 range, depending on your raw quant score, performance in quant courses in college, and quality of your professional work experience. Finally, for these programs, you will also need to have a strong set of essays, recommendations and interviews.

Best of luck,
Lisa

Dear Lisa,
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback - 710 seems just about feasible!
