In 1914 a total of 469,000 cars and trucks were produced in the United States, but in 1929 almost twice the numbers of trucks alone came off the assembly lines.

A. the numbers of tucks alone
B. that number of trucks alone
C. the number of trucks by themselves
D. as many trucks themselves
E. as many trucks by themselves
OA: Later
Thanks for explanation of every option.

correct

themselves is wrong in this sentence
D. as many trucks themselves

It's an OG question.

It's good that you're digging up all the similar type of questions to get familiar with the topic. Do you have different categories for other types of questions by any chance?

I was confused between A and B. Is B better because of the use of 'that' which is referring to the number of cars and trucks in 1914?
Being defeated is often only a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.
