If a drug that is already on the market has the potential to help adults and children who have the same disease, or if it is widely used in children and the absence of labeling seems dangerous, the FDA can require that the drug undergo pediatric study.

(A) that the drug undergo
(B) that the drug undergoes
(C) that the drug is to undergo
(D) the drug undergoing
(E) the drug to have to undergo
OA: My doubt is between option A and option B. I tried to solve this problem in the following way-

Can require doesn't symbolize bossy wording therefore, I thought of not using subjunctive mood and went with option B but the OA is A. Please help
You have correctly identified it is subjunctive mood......But remember that in subjunctive mood the Verb should not be in (to be form and also the verb should not have S added to it at the end)

So, Answer A is correct

Hope this Helps!!!

To add one more point. In case of subjunctive verb
1)'to' becomes 'be' --
2)'was' becomes 'were'
3) repeat of earlier post - verb ending with "S" change to verb without "S"
