Question 1

A. this choice means that the baby is 20/500
B. this choice means that the vision is blind
C. this choice uses a semicolon ... but the second part of the sentence is not a balanced sentence.
E. this choice means that the vision is blind

B. where first discovered - needs to read 'where they were first'
C. have been first discovered - discovery happens in one moment of time, not a time span.
D. where first discovered - needs to read 'where they were first'
E. they have been first - discovery happens in one moment of time, not a time span.
