Pick D
-You don't need due to with because
-D, correctly conveys because x---because y

Some thoughts:

1. Due to Vs Because of:

If there is to be verb (am, is, are, was, were), this be verb is followed by "due to".

Example:

The cancellation of the program was due to rain.

If there is main verb, this main verb is followed by "because of".

Example:

The program was canceled because of rain.

Using this rule, we can eliminate A and B.

Then the parallelism is "Because XX than because YY".

Answer is D.

1 minute 4 seconds (too much)

I was considering C for 1 minute and landed on D in last 4 seconds.
