B. from a mammal's
C. from that of a mammal
D. than that of a mammal
E. than is a mammal's

Fish's eyes are being compared with mammal's eyes. Hence, Answer is B.

Their eyes(possessive) is parallel to mammal's..

different from that of -eyes are plural ...

different from those of the is right.

Yup the OA given is B......I was confused with their eyes as I couldn't make it out on possessive part....:-(

"that" is also singular, so it wouldn't logically refer to the plural "eyes"

I couldn't get what you mentioned in your above post i.e "that" is also singular??????? Can't that refer to plural things?????

I think I read some where that "that" can refer to plural things also........any expert please comment on the same.........

example: the companies that have been number 1 are from USA..........I don't think the usage of "that" is wrong in this example

The usage of 'that' as a relative pronoun which introduces a relative clauses can refer to plural subject as well. The usage of 'that' in the current thread is as a Demonstrative pronoun which refers to the object.
