The infinitive of purpose seem very difficult to me.
Can some one please help me understand what are they?
1. The building was demolished to avoid falling down accidentally.
2. The building was demolished to keep it from falling down accidentally.
What is wrong in statement 1.

1. Seems like "falling down" is being avoided rather than avoiding "building falling down"

i feel first sentence would have been better if it would have been written in the following way

The building was demolished in order to avoid falling down accidentally.......
