engineering feats

If the engineering feats of that early decade remains impressive - boring a mile-long tunnel through a solid mountain, and turning the eastward flow of two rivers westward - the arduous conditions in which the engineers worked are no less remarkable.

A. If the engineering feats of that early decade remains impressive - boring
B. If the engineering feats of that early decade remains impressive - such as the boring of
C. Although the engineering feats of that early decade remains impressive - boring
D. If the feats of engineering in that early decade remains impressive - boring
E. If the engineering feats of that early decade remain impressive - boring

I will go with C. I think we are comparing two things to show the contrasting phenomena.

Engineering feats and arduous tasks. So I feel to show the contrast between these two "Although" needs to be used.

Please correct me if my reasoning is wrong. Also can I know the source of this problem ?

engineering feats is plural. So plural verb "remain" should be used. Only answer choice E corrects this error.

did you transcribe the sc properly .Boring and Turning are examples of feats that the first part of the SC talks about . Therefore we need to use such as to introduce these examples .
At the same time E is the only option that uses the correct verb . But C is the only option that introduces the examples appropriately

Thank you. I now can see the Subject Verb agreement and will go with E.

But I still have doubts about the usage of If here. Can somebody please explain the usage of IF in this sentence please.

subject verb agreement is quite clear but the structure of the dependent clause is using the phrase
.......no less.....
and i think using "although" will be make sentence more clear.
please correct me if am wrong. this is not just about options i am asking a general question.

Example:
Although Ruchi worked hard to stood first Reshu's perseverance was no less remarkable.
Vs.
If Ruchi worked hard to stood first Reshu's perseverance was no less remarkable.

i think first one sounds better....
