Hi Stacy,

I have been working for around 6 years now in IT industry and currently playing a role of a project Lead. I want to go ahead with my MBA aspiration in 2012. but I am quite skeptic about changing my field of expertise from IT to may be Finance or Marketing. I need your guidance on the following points:

1. How practical it is to take this step(Changing the Industry)?
2. Will My experience give me any benefit in my career en devour after MBA?
3. Can you suggest me some programs which are related to IT?

Regards
Abhishek Arohi

Dear Abhishek,

Career changes are difficult for anyone, but not impossible. I think the more important question is what do YOU want to do with your career? where do you want to see your career go in the next 5, 10, 15 years? What type of work and what industries are of interest to you? Perhaps determining what you want first will help you to then determine how to present your rationale for an MBA? In terms of identifying schools, you can run queries on www.mba.com to find programs with concentrations you seek.

Good luck,
Lisa
