The stereo system in your room is bigger than that in my room.
vs
The stereo system in your room is bigger than one in my room.

Are both the above sentences correct or which one one?

To me, the second seems to imply that there is more than one stereo system in my room. The first sentence is more precise. I would prefer:

The stereo system in your room is bigger than the one in my room.
