what is the problem with option A..

what is the problem with option A..
first of all verb is required to make the construction valid. ........., but........
A has many issues
1. removing the non essential part renders the sentence illogical.
2. Its not an standalone.

I will go with D

IMO D

In A, look at the sentence construction carefully whenever you encounter "Which" in it. Here The science of economics lacks a verb...and also Which points to Economics..not to the science of economics.

Option A creates a run on sentence.
Sentence starts with The science of economics(SUBJECT), ... but this sentence did not end.
So, This should be a clause.
