Redundancy in Application?

I have listed my best professional accomplishments/experiences on my resume; unsurprisingly these are also top of mind as essay fodder as well as anecdotes my recommenders will likely use.

Would elaborating on the resume bullet points in essays/recs be a bad idea and too redundant? Should I try to take them off the resume, or try to avoid as essay topics? I can use other material for the more personal essays, but topics about leading a team, creating impact, etc really seem best suited to what I listed....

It is only natural that there be crossover between your resume and your essays, as you will hopefully be using your best stories for your essays. There is nothing "Redundant" about having the same achievements in both places, and in fact, it is rather expected.

I agree with you, it is quite obvious and expected that you should get achievement in the area where you already succeed.

i would actually go so far as to suggest that NOT including the items on your resume in your essays (at least to some minimal degree) could surface questions about consistency. if accomplishments on your resume differ from those in your essays, why is that? so my advice is definitely to add that layer of congruency by keeping consistent across both data elements.

I would concur with Jon here. You will elaborate in your essays what you have just listed in bullet points in your resume, and what your recommender has stated in probable one or two sentences in your reco. All these are different parts of YOUR application package ,and they should reinforce the same theme.Your resume provides a snapshot of your accomplishments while your essays provide a detailed story of the same.
