by Atult718 » Thu Mar 15, 2007 3:20 pm
Hello Stacy,

I have a BA degree in : Major - Accounting, Minor - Economics. GPA -

Work Experience-
During college years i worked at a freight forwarding company for 2 years. I was taking additional computer networking courses such as ccna , ccnp as well ( i am certified for them now). After college I started working for an import export company in steel...worked there for 2 years doing freight forwarding. Started as an employee and promoted till i was the manager of my dept. From there on company promoted me for a new project in germany.... I have been in germany for the past 7 months as the sales and marketing director of the new project estimated to be around 50 million dollars. Working with offices in india, germany and U.S. Making trips to these countries within every few months.

Languages
- english, hindi, punjabi, german (basic)

Extracurricular activities - CCNA,CCNP certified, had my own show on radio for about 3 months, member of steel association in germany, have been organizing and investing into intercollegiate dance competitions in u.s for the past 3 years.... awarding winners as much as 10,000 dollars,

GMAT - i still have to take, what should i be aiming at for my application to be even considered?

At this point of my life i have been working for about 4 years, now, i want to go for mba. If i do an online MBA my company is even willing to pay part of it. But, i want to know if i have any chance to get into the top 10 schools?

Which would be a better choice for me.... stay with the company and have them pay for an online mba OR leave work and go full time in a prestigious university if i get accepted? Do i have any chances of getting in?

help plz.

You do a have a chance of being admitted to a good full time program. If you feel that the full time program is a better fit for your goals, I suggest you go that route. However, the online program has advantages as well (including your company paying for it), so you may decide that is a better fit with your businenss school and professional goals.

4-5 years of full time experience is certainly enough. The quality of the experience will be more important than the quantity. 680-700 is a nice range for the GMAT score. Of course, the higher the better.
