Q1. I think there is a transcription error: no correct answer is present-the choices listed.
subject -verb agreemnt: the flowpattern is known as "standing waves";

Q2. Answer -E; They do [sell]; 'sell' is implied;
To understand better how this type of construction works - study 'pro-verb' construction ( not 'proverb');
