If x is a positive integer, is the remainder 0 when 3x + 1 is divided by 10?
(1) x = 4n + 2, where n is a positive integer.
(2) x > 4

OA: A

Please explain..

My answer is d - Not sure if 0 is considered as +ve integer. If not then B.

Option 1-
3x + 1 = 3(4n + 2) + 1
= 12n + 7

Since 12n will always be even, 12n+7 will always be odd. i.e. not divisible by 0. --Sufficient

Option 2 - is not sufficient

Ans A
