Hi guys!
I have started to prepare for GMAT back in november. After 3 months, I feel very confident about my knowledge. I finally decided to take the test in april.
I took my first practice test from MGMAT, when I was still studying verbal (I had already finished quant). My score was 47 in quant and 35 in verbal, and I had 14 wrong questions in quant. Two weeks later, I took my second MGMAT test and got a 700, with 46 in quant (15 wrong ones this time) and 40 in verbal. Today, I took my first Kaplan test, and found it a bit weird. The quant section was easy, and I finished it with 32/37 (and I missed a question because when I clicked "next" the computer didn't move, so I clicked again and jumped 2 questions). In verbal, I got a 35/41. I thought my final grade would be very good, but I only got a 44 in quant and a 43 in verbal, with a final score of 680. Now, my doubts:
- Is the kaplan test really a CAT? It didn't seem to me that the questions were getting harder. Also, they group the questions by type. In CR, for example, I even thought the questions were getting easier and thought I was maybe missing a lot, but I got only 1 mistake in CR.
- Is Kaplan's scoring system correct? Or is MGMAT system wrong? If I get the first 17 questions right in quant and end up with 5 wrong ones, should I get a score higher than 44? If I have a good start but finish with 14 mistakes, can I manage to get a 47?
- Are the quant questions from MGMAT harder than the real GMAT? They seemed very difficult, but I got a good score in their CAT anyway.
Thanks a lot for your help!
