Hi! there,
I need your advice and opinion on my decision towards doing my MBA.
I have completed my Software Engineering, from Indraprastha University, India in year 2004. Worked with IMRB International, New Delhi,India as Analyst, Teleopti AB, Stockholm,Sweden as Software Developer and now working with eBay,Dublin,Ireland, as Software Engineer, in all working for past 3 and half year.
I want to move on to the consulting business, and want to go in for my MBA from Europe (as I want to be in here). My present work is akin to Business Analyst and plus more.

I haven't taken my GMAT though, but intend to appear in it 2 months time from now.

My question,
1. Is it the right time to do MBA?
2. How strong will my application turn out to be?
3. What would be good business schools to target?

Thanks
Vibhu

Hi Vibhu,

It sounds like you have interesting international experience, which is great.

I think 3 years work experience (4 years + by the time you actually begin school) is enough as long as you have shown progression in your career and know what your career goals are.

How competitive your application will be depends on you - I don't have much information. What was your GPA? Do you have any volunteer/extracurricular activities? When you have a GMAT score that will also help you narrow down your school list. In the meantime, it may help to read the sticky on school selection.

Good luck!
