Princeton Review 2006 CAT test

Hi,

Upset with my GMAT Prep score yesterday I took the Princeton Review 2006 CAT Test. I scored 690 (Q46 V39). I just wanted to ask how does Princeton question matchup to the actual GMAT test score.

I was able to finish Q section with more than 17 mins to spare and I got 2 DS and 2 PS question wrong out of the 37 question and on the V I was able to finish 2 mins before time but I got like 8 SC wrong and 1 CR and ! RC each wrong. I need to work a lot on my SC.

Any opinions comments welcome.

From what I have read and from what I have experienced from that software is that it isnt a good judge for your actual ability.

The best software is the GMATPrep software for judging your actual ability. Best to hit the books and study study study and practice practice practice

I think that your experience matches what my experience has shown. (I'm a GMAT tutor & have had dozens of students work with all the simulated CAT software)

The Princeton software is reasonably close - if anything too easy in terms of scoring and too easy in terms of some of the questions that they provide. (ie If you get the first 6 Qs right, TPR will give you too easy a question.)

But the real proof of the validity of TPR's software is that your scores were all but identical 1 day apart between GMATPrep & TPR.

Keep working. Sentence correction is as you say where you have the most room to grow.

Also, you need to practice w/ the toughest math & verbal Qs available. Get the toughies from OG 11 & the OG math & verbal guides and Kaplan 800.

I want to thank everyone who replied to my post. Just wanted to let you all know it good to hear from you all it really keeps me going in the right direction and attain my personal Target to be in 700 club on G-Day (11/21 for me)
