GMAT PREP QUESTION

List K consists of 12 consecutive integers. If -4 is the least integer in list K, what is the range of positive integer in list K?

1: 5
2: 6
3: 7
4: 11
5: 12

Since -4 is the least integer and there are 12 consecutive integers, the list K is:
-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 .

Positive integers are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
The range = largest positive integer - smallest positive integer = 7 - 1 = 6. :)

Im not too sure if 6 is right..I think it would be 11 since it covers all possible values

I agree with eagleeye.

Since the question asks for range of positive integer, it should be 7-1=6

Why did you count 0 as integer ? Although it is very basic question, classifying 0 is a problem here. I posted it just to get clarity over 0.


Yes OA is B which means 6.

I so love this question!!!!!

I fell for the trap when I first encountered this. I think this is just the GMAT trying to test your concentration in the exam.

Remember that what you are being asked is the range of the POSITIVE integers.

And then we know that 0 is NEITHER positive NOR negative

As such, 7 - 1 = 6
