Given x=2y, we want to know is y=1000.
from 1,
x+y =3000
2y+y=3000
y=1000, hence suff. eliminate B,C,E
From 2
x=2000
put in given eqn..
2y=2000
y=1000
Hence D

x/600 = y/300
or x/2 = y
or x =2y
Statement 1: X + y = 3000
substituting x = 2y in statement 1
we get:
2y + y = 3000
or y=1000 - SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: 3x = 6000
substituting x = 2y
3(2y) = 6000
6y = 6000
y=1000 - SUFFICIENT
imo D
