(1) a/b = 2/3
If a = 6 and b = 9 then ab = 6 * 9 = 54 and a/b = 2/3
If a = 4 and b = 6 then ab = 4 * 6 = 24 and a/b = 2/3
No definite answer, so statement 1 is NOT sufficient.

(2) a^3 = 64 and b^3 = 216 implies 4^3 = 64, so a = 4 and 6^3 = 216, so b = 6.
We know the values of both a and b, so we can find the value of ab; SUFFICIENT.
The correct answer is B; statement 2 alone is sufficient to answer the question.
