IESE-like Loan. Any other?

by Mozartain » Wed Nov 12, 2008 12:48 am
Hi all,

I'd like to know what other schools have loan facilities similar to the IESE Global Loan. In other words, in which other schools are accepted students automatically eligible for loans irrespective of any other criterion?

IESE Global Loan:

Thanks.

I'm sure many other schools have a similar scheme. Check out the school's financial aid sections. Here is one from London Business School:

I don't know anyone who got denied a loan by HSBC in my class, though loan amounts vary based on factors mentioned in the PDF. Also, if you are from Myanmar you can't get a loan :) .

Thank you.

I’m interested in LBS and I did look into that document. There’s one small but important difference though. The loan approval decision is at the bank’s discretion, unlike in IESE where accepted students automatically qualify. But it is important information that you don’t know of anyone in your class being denied a loan.

So are you at LBS?

And what is it with Myanmar?

I’m not from there, but mighty close.

Almost all top schools have loan programs similar to what you have mentioned and most of them are covered by HSBC I guess. Stanford has the Stanford credit union and so on.

Yup a 1st year at LBS... the thing with Myanmar is that if you're a national of Myanmar then you're screwed, cause at the moment it's the only country which is on some international money laundering list. It's mentioned in the PDF I posted above (that's where I got this info from).
