I am a current HBS student and intend to enter Harvard Business School's "New Venture Competition" https://www.hbs.edu/newventurecompetitio ... fault.aspx. The competition is open to current HBS students only, however we can select team members of our choosing.
Our Backgrounds; I have launched/joined a number of successful start ups, both VC backed and Bootstrapped as CTO/CEO. I have won business plan competitions etc. My partner, who is also an HBS student, is am MD candidate.
The Project; We are working in the consumer facing cosmetics space. There is a technology with a health benefit component. The technology is proven. We will begin selling in a pilot in two weeks.
What We Are Looking For; We are looking for a "team member", who plans to apply to b-schools, to really drive the business plan writing forward and work on overall logistics. This third team member would be treated as an equal for all aspects of the Harvard New Ventures Competition, however would be non-compensated past the competition. Given my partner's and my backgrounds, we have a strong chance of winning this competition, however we are devoting out time to the non-business-plan-writing aspects of this opportunity.
The ideal team member will drive forward the business plan writing. S/he will be well spoken and organized. S/he should have experience compiling polished decks/pitches and be able to commit 10 hours a week until April 1 when the slide deck is due. S/he will do primary research speaking with customers/distributors/industry reps, sizing the market and competitors and running social media, as well as keeping us on track.
