Answer is E IMO because the original sentence says "continues..." that's means it's still happening...

This sentence checks for Verb tense . Since the economy is still growing and countinues to grow the continuous tense should be used and not past tense .

Its easy to overlook the change in meaning if you try to maintain parallelism after the colon(:) .

A. grew, inflation has eased, and the trade surplus swelled grew means it grew in the past and has stopped growing now, change in meaning eliminate.

B. has grown, inflation has eased, and the trade surplus swelled has grown measn present perfect that means industry production grew in past and still growing so this is ok, inflation has eased again present perfect so this too is ok ,the trade surplus swelled means trade surplus welled in past and stopped. Not correct discard.

C. has grown, inflation eased, and the trade surplus has swelled has grown and has swelled both uses present perfect but inflation eased is again past tense . Not correct discard.

D. has grown, inflation eased, and the trade surplus is swelling.again inflation eased is in past tense . Discard
E. is growing, inflation easing and the trade surplus swelling
Correct . All the three attributes are in present continuous tense .

this question only tests parallelism and tenses

We require the present continuous tense as its mentioning continues to flourish.

Only E correctly satisfies both the requirements.

Hence IMO E

Hope this helps :)
