LSAT RC Accuracy

by archanavakiyil » Tue Aug 10, 2010 7:22 am
Hi,

I have been practicing LSAT RCs the past few days. I seem to have developed an annoying ability of getting one question wrong per passage, every single time !!! :?

I am not sure If I am doing good or bad. I also seem to be taking 10 mins per passage + 5-6 questions. Verbal Wizzs out there, pl help with some pointers to get my accuracy up albeit lesser time.

Thanks

Hey Archana,

That sounds awesome. Given the verbosity of the passage and the toughness /vagueyness of the questions of LSAT,

I would say you are doing a fair bet.

If i am not wrong you would be missing the last question of the 6 questions in a any particular RC. generally the lsat question used to be very vague and bit tougher too.

Hey!! gmatmachoman

You got that one right !!. The last question of LSAT passages has been very bothersome. I thought, I had an attention span of say 5 questions :D. Phew!! Its not me then !! But I do get the 5th question wrong once in a while.

Do you think 10 mins is a little too much per RC passage+questions? whats your strategy?

Thanks
Archana

I would suggest try to squeeze up ur timing on SC, so u have the privilege to leverage ur saved time for RC..this is my way of doing...

when I understand gmat passages, I can get all the questions right. But, when I understand the LSAT passages, I can not get all the question right. The matter is, I see, that the questions of LSAT require harder inference than those of GMAT.

Moreover, I see that GMAT passages are well structured but LSAT passages are longer and boring and easy to get lost.

luckily, I like gmat passages more than lsat passages.
