simple but confusing

if increasing 20 by p percent gives the same result as decreasing 60 by p percent, what is p percent of 70?

p% of 20=20p/100
p% of 60=60p/100

so,
20+20p/100=60-60p/100
or 80p/100=40
or p/100=1/2

p% of 70=70 * p/100 =70 * 1/2 =35

Answer is 35...
First find the p% of 20 = 20p/100
Second p% of 60 = 60p/100
so according to question, 20 + (20p/100) = 60 - (60p/100)
solving will give you p= 1/2
so p% of 70 = 70 *1/2 = 35

20 + p(20) = 20 + 20p
60 - p(60)= 60 - 60p

20 + 20p = 60-60p
80p = 40
p = 40/80 = 1/2

p% of 70 is 1/(2/100) = 1/200 * 70 = 70/200 = 7/20 = 35%
