Should I retake the GMAT?

by nina.dominic » Wed May 23, 2012 3:25 am
Hi,

I prepared for GMAT for 6 months and landed a score of 530(Q44 and V19) on March 29th 2012.I thought I will retake the GMAT on March 28th 2012.But in the two months I have not touched the book because of family matters and personal commitments ( And I was really depressed, becuase I used to get 640 and more in GMAT prep and never thought would land on 19 for Verbal).I am considering a dual degree in John Hopkins MA communications and MBA which requires a GMAT of only 550. With absolutely no preperation and a study gap of 2 months, should I go and retake the GMAT on 28th May 2012? Will the universities prefer the greatest score or the latest score?

Please help. Any advice would be more than appreciated.

Thanking you for your precious time. God bless.

Regards
Neena

Universities look at the highest score not the latest for evaluation, but it would be better if your latest GMAT score is also highest of all your attempts...

Well I will suggest you to pump up your mind. Do not just jump in the exam. Prepare for 1 month with consistency and reduce your anxiety. I think you screwed up your GMAT because of anxiety only.

Enjoy your struggle and make fun of the problems in GMAT.
