Hello there, I'm trying to see if I could get more feedback from this panel of the forum (not sure if I posted my original post in the right place).
Currently I'm facing a dilemma of choosing the offers between the UT Austin Houston program and Rice professional program. Cost, location, and schedule are very close and fit me well. I know that UT Austin probably has a better overall rep over Rice, but my main concern is over the fact that I'll be in the Houston program (have to due to location) thus limited resources (i.e. main campus activities), also the lock-step format of the UT class is not offering much flexibiliy/selectivity at all---on the other hand, Rice offers lots of electives and energy is the area that I want to focus in; UT Austin Houston program on the other hand, offers more of a "general" MBA and none of the classes are in particular energy area.
I know I probably can't go wrong with either choice for the Houston area program. I've visted both locations and met with some recruiters/students.So I'm trying to get some of your opinions out there as I'm making my final decision. Most of my Houston friends/colleagues recommend Rice while my out-of-state/country folks recommend UT. Career-wise, my intention is to stay with the energy industry but I'm willing to move internationall.y
Any comments/advice are welcome!
Thanks and good luck on the GMAT/MBA to all of you!
