Focusing Prospective School Search

by Trewab01 » Tue Aug 18, 2009 11:05 am
Good Afternoon!

I am looking for assistance in focusing my school search.

Background -
* Undergraduate GPA: 3.95 (Small but very competitive liberal arts school)
* GMAT: 720 (47Q 42V)
* Age: 25 at matriculation
* B-School Focus/Concentration: Strategic Management
and Economics
* Gender: Female
* WE: 3+ years at matriculation in federal government agency (quantitative economic analysis) with leadership and training experience
* Aspirations: Non-profit strategic management consulting (ex. Bain) or working for a large Foundation(ex. Ford or Gates)

I know getting into Stanford or Booth (my dream schools) will take excellent essays and letters of recommendation, as well as a strong interview. I also know these schools are a stretch for nearly anyone.

My question is where should I be applying that I have a solid shot - not quiet a safety school - but someplace with a thoughtful and strong application that I have a solid shot of getting in.

Thank you!
