EssaySnark only knows of a few MBA programs that have any focus on hospitality: Cornell, because they have a whole separate hospitality school - the School of Hotel Administration - and Johnson School students can take classes there; and ESSEC in France.

You may actually want to look into the Cornell MMH - Master of Management in Hospitality: https://www.hotelschool.cornell.edu/admissions/mmh/
They also have a partner program in Singapore at Nanyang Institute: https://www.cni.ntu.edu.sg/graduate/graduate.html

ESSEC: www.essec.edu/programs/mba-in-hospitali ... -imhi.html

If you are 100% committed to the hospitality industry, the MMH might be great. If you think you may do other things in the future, outside of hospitality, then the MBA is the way to go, whether at Cornell Johnson, or ESSEC, or another good school. The MBA will leave you more options later, it's more "portable."

There may be other hospitality-specific MBA programs but EssaySnark hasn't heard of them -- if you uncover others, please let us know!

Good luck with it!

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes I had cornell in my selected list. I also had interest in University of central florida (Rosen college) , Purdue university, University of South carolina , Florida International University , & NYU. How do you rate them career wise??

About Hospitality field, i want to be more into Tourism field, i.e Tour Operators or Airlines. Can you suggest anything related to this?

Also any particular university best for career in Tourism field. Though if i come down and find that hospitality is a better option i would be more then happy to work in that field.

Thanks again for your response. :)

EssaySnark is unfamiliar with any of these MBA programs except for NYU. NYU is a well-respected brand name. The other schools are not as well known. That doesn't mean you can't get a good education there. EssaySnark firmly believes that bschool is what you make of it.

Two ways to evaluate whether a school is a good fit are a) look through their course catalog (and make sure that the courses you want to take are offered regularly); and b) review the companies that have recruited there recently. If the companies you want to work for recruit there, it's almost a no-brainer. Otherwise it will be up to you to do all the legwork and find that first job.

EssaySnark has never heard of a tourism-specific MBA, and assumes that there's enough overlap with hospitality that the previous schools are still relevant. But this isn't EssaySnark's field, so who knows what's out there to be discovered? It sounds like an area where you'll need to do your own research, since it's rather niche/uncommon.

Another approach, though, would be to focus on what you want to DO at a tour operator or an airline -- what functional area are you interested in? Finance? Strategy? Marketing? Operations? Then find a bschool that can best prepare you for that function. Or, you can read the executive bios of the management team at companies you'd want to work for, and see where they got their education. And again, look for schools that attract the companies you want to work for through their career services outreach.

Good luck with it!

Hi Kabir! I'm actually a current student at UCF and wanted to clarify the difference in the degree programs, UCF offers an MBA program, but it doesn't have any particular focus on hospitality, the Grad Program at Rosen you'd be looking into is a Masters program in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Also, if your interested in the Central Florida area, another school you could look into would be the Rollins Crummer School of Business.

As a side note, if you have any questions about the UCF campus or the area feel free to PM me :)
