PLZZZZZ Evaluate my profile

by shweta172 » Mon Jun 01, 2009 8:42 pm
I am planning to pursue my MBA in International Business from Australia. Currently I am working as an Assistant to Managing Director in pvt. organisation in Mumbai, India. I have completed my graduation in June-2008 with majors in Chemistry from Mumbai University with 55%. I am planning to take admission for MBA in September-2010 (in mean time i will complete 2 yrs of working). My overall average academic record from Std 10th to Graduation is 52 %. I appeared for GMAT in dec '08, but score was very less. I'll be reappearing in this year and also for IELTS.

What are my chances of getting in good B-schools in Australia and also which B-schools would considered my application, kindly let me know the names?

Dear shweta172,

I encourage you to spend some time researching schools in Australia to determine which are the best fit for you and also where you have the best chance of gaining admission. The sticky on school selection might have some helpful tips for you as well. Generally, you are a competitive applicant for a program where your GPA and GMAT are at or above the average. Since decisions are made on more than the numbers, your professional work experience, recommendations, essays and interview will also play a critical role in the decision. Thus identifying schools where you are in a competitive range in terms of GPA/GMAT is the quickest way to identify potential options, but being high on those two measures does not guarantee admission.

Good luck,
Lisa
