Putting GMAT Score on Resume before going to B-School

I have posted before that my GPA is a VERY low 2.24 GPA Finance major at top 10 university. I have managed to get a job in the accounts payable department of a major company but really want to work in finance, which is far more competitive.

I recently scored a 710 (50Q, 36V) and was wondering if it would be helpful to put my score on my resume. I realize that it is telling potential employers that you intend on leaving within 5 years, but given my current GPA, would it help more than it hurts?

Dear mike,

A GMAT score should never go on your resume as it is not a valid measure of anything related to your job performance. A GMAT score is only worthwhile as a tool for business school admissions to determine if you have the aptitude to handle the coursework. Since you have been out of school for awhile and your GPA is low, you should also remove your GPA. Once you have started working, potential employers will care most about what you have done in your career--not how you did in college.

Thanks Lisa. I initially did not think so either but I read many obscure postings scattered across the internet that said that is was OK. I figured I would ask an expert to make sure. So thanks!
