HEC vs Ross

Hi there!

I have been accepted to two of the programs that I applied. HEC School of Management and Ross School at the University of Michigan. I am a career changer with a marketing background but willing to make a career in the consulting industry (I think that both schools are good options for my career path). However, I don't know yet which school to attend. I would like to live some time in Europe but I don't speak french and I am worried about getting a good internship (I think that my best option will be the UK), on the other hand, HEC is best ranked in all the important publications (The Economist, Financial Times...)

Do you have any advice or perspective than can help me with my decision?

Hi Hector,

I think you should consider where you'd like to spend the most time in your career for the long-term when making your decision. I also think that you should reach out to people who are are in careers that you admire AND whose profiles are somewhat similar to yours (age, country of origin, work experience, etc.) at each school and discuss your decision with them. (You can find them on LinkedIn by doing a people search) Lots of them would be happy to convince you to become a fellow alum of their school!

I have a client currently at Ross and another one who just got admitted with a $30,000 scholarship and they are both super psyched about Ross! Living in France for awhile could be really awesome as well (though not speaking French would be quite a challenge...)
